Weakness in interview is that shortcoming that you have. Identifying your weaknesses honestly might increase your likelihood to win over the hiring manager.
1. I am quite hesitant to ask for help
Example:
“When I am approaching different work scenarios, there is a possibility of doing this alone. Approaching scenarios independently happens even when I am confronted with a challenge. This leaves me unable to ask for assistance when I am stranded, and I cannot find viable solutions to my challenges. Over time, I have appreciated the worth of seeking assistance whenever needed. It is something I have been practicing and have been saving my time and improving my efficiency.”
2. I am at times caught up trying to achieve perfection
Example:
“I am a firm believer in delivering quality and close-to-perfection results outputs. Delivering quality and perfect output costs me time and, in other cases, money. When too much time or money is spent in excess in an attempt to attain perfection, it becomes a time and financial resources management problem for me. In the recent past, I have come to learn that it is not all about being a perfectionist. Instead, it is trying to avoid most errors while maintaining a healthy balance between output quality depending on input investment.”
3. I struggle to work in group tasks with people of certain personalities
Example
“I have always had problems working with people whose personalities are too different from mine. I know this weakness has been hindering me from benefiting from diverse ideas people can contribute when they coordinate, regardless of their personalities. I know this is a weakness I have to overcome at all costs. I have been training myself to coordinate with others from a neutral point of view without being judgemental based on other people’s personalities. I am actively trying to build more interpersonal relationships regardless of personality type.”
4. I am a little disorganized
Example:
“I am a person who thrives excellently working with no formal rules and procedures. However, my ability to succeed in such a chaotic environment contributes to my disorganization. Sometimes I can keep my work and tasks a little disorganized. I understand working for a corporation like this comes with rules and policies that I must follow to the letter. It is something I have been preparing for psychologically. I have been using a Kanban board to prepare for working under strict rules and policies, and I can say it’s working.”
5. I overwork myself causing fatigue-related errors
Example:
“Whenever I have set myself to deliver, I commit myself with passion. Due to my passion for producing results that I like, I often end up overworking myself. Being caught in this behavior has brought me fatigue-related errors a couple of times. I have learned at times, I immerse myself too much to work and forget the significance of work-life balance. I believe it is a weakness I can overcome while working in an environment where there are set rules, policies, and timelines to delegate a task. This will allow me to care for myself and reduce the possibility of committing fatigue related-errors.”
6. I often struggle to make discrete decisions
7. I can at times be less talkative, especially in a new environment.
8. Due to my desire for perfection, at times I do consume more time than necessary for different tasks.
9. I am not as assertive.
10. I am poor at conflict management.
